WHAT IS THE RRP?
The Retired Racehorse Project (RRP) is the world's largest Thoroughbred retraining competition.
It features recently retired racehorses competing in ten disciplines across 4 days of showing. Events include dressage, hunter/jumper, and show jumping to name a few - all to support these amazing athletes (The Horses) as they move on from the fast paced world of Racing.
WHAT ARE THE EVENT DETAILS?
The Show Runs October 8-11, 2025 at Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington KY, USA.
This is the 10th-anniversary event at which a new format debuts replacing the overall championship with
individual discipline championships. The event highlights the versatility and second careers of retired racehorses.
With Prizes Topping $135,000, 322 Trainers from all over North America will compete not only for money but for reputation, accolades and of course, for the love of all things horses.
WHAT ARE WE DOING IN PREP FOR THE RRP?
Training a retired racehorse for show jumping involves a gradual transition from racing to a new routine. It starts with proper boarding, rest, and a full veterinary evaluation to ensure the horse’s health. Regular farrier care and a balanced diet are essential. Groundwork and flatwork help build strength, balance, and trust. Jump training is introduced slowly, focusing on confidence and correct technique. Patience and consistency are key throughout the process.

1. Can I pay with Paypal?
Yes! If you would like to pay with PayPal, it will be an option on the check out page.
2. How long does shipping take?
It depends on where you live! Typically we expect 5-7 business days but it may take as much as 14 business days in a worst case scenario.
3. Will I have to pay customs charges?
To allow our focus to be on Training and not shipping merch, some of our products are made by "Drop Shipping" companies originating in the US (This was unavoidable with the software we have free access to) and you may be subject to import fees. Please see your countries import guidelines for more information. We don't anticipate any issues but will contact you if we are notified of fees incurred.
